Olympic Party

YAY! We LOVE watching the Olympics at our house! And to celebrate the opening of the 2012 games- we hosted an Team USA tailgate party! 

We set up 'events' around the yard!

• Discus (frisbee)
• Shot put (bocce ball and a hula hoop)
• Hurdles (set up with pool noodles and bamboo stakes)
• Target practice (nerf guns and a target made of pool noodles)
• Soccer weave (pool noodles and bamboo stakes)
• Volleyball (played with a beach ball do it was little kid friendly!)

We had party favors! 

• Gold sparklers- with a "Go for the GOLD" label
• red, white and blue gumballs
• pom poms (made from ribbon curls from the $ store and a dowel from the hardware store)
• Team USA window decals- so each of the families could support team USA on their cars!
• Red and blue water bottles- $ store

Yummy Food

• pulled pork tacos
• chips
• red, white and blue dipped strawberries
• kabobs made from raspberries, angel food cake and blue berries

Drinks

• Lots of bottled water
• sprite with koolaid star ice (blue and red)

Decorations

• LOTS of red, white and blue!
• American flags posted everywhere!
• Red, white and blue stars handing from the trees
• Patriotic hats
• AND OF COURSE gold medals for everyone!!!!

The season's over

Corynn finished up her softball season on Tuesday! Her team is awesome and Corynn did amazing this year! She's really starting to find her stride...and her batting skills are freaking sweet! Our little slugger! We just need to convince her to run faster...you would think with those LONG legs she would be a speed racer. Eh, not so much. But we have 9 months to work on it! 

Where's baby?

We are having our carpets cleaned and had to move furniture. We put Evie in her high chair to keep her out of the way and...we ended up packing her into a corner! Oops! At least she has a snack! ;)

14?! Really!?

Can you believe our little twinnies are 14 already!? Holy moly...they grow up fast! I was looking through photos to find one to post on fb (the embarrassment factor) and was sucked into their photo albums. My little babies! So sweet! So many photos of them crawling, walking, laughing, first day of school, toothless grins, action sport shots, vacations and family. I love looking back and remembering all those times, adventures and fun!

Well, girls...you are growing up into fine young ladies! LOVE ya!

South Dakota 2012

We recently returned from a fun vacation in SD! Visited some dear friends and had a wonderful time! The weather was SOOOOO nice! While it was 100+ degrees here - it was only in the 70s there...LOVELY!!

We went on a mine tour and panned for gold! Went to a small town street festival, took a bus tour of Deadwood and the cemetery, went fishing and paddle boating, and visited Mount Rushmore! John and I did a little gambling...won big the first night and then kindly gave back all our winnings the subsequent nights! No money loss out of our pockets and I've discovered a love of one deck Black Jack!!!!

I'm ready to start regularly blogging again! I've decided that its an outlet for me- to express memories, thoughts, adventures and every day happenings! I need it. I've missed it. Its time! YAY!
