All Hallow's Eve 2013

And this is our little neighbor boy...isn't this great!?

I ordered Evie's red hood and petticoat off of Etsy- the hood is seriously darling! She was adorable! Went up to houses all by herself when her big sis went off with friends. She even tried to say thank you! So sweet! Once she was in her pjs- she fell right to sleep. John asked if she ate dinner. Yep- five suckers, two tootsie rolls and a snickers. yum! :)

Sun

My attitude and emotion tend to mirror the weather. My body needs sunlight to be motivated and energized. Even on the coldest most frigid day in January- as long as there is a bright sun, I'm good. These past few days have taken its toll. Its dreary and grey. The cold fall rain has been drizzling through the fog. Evie and I spent the better part of yesterday cuddled up on the couch reading books and watching cartoons. She must feel it too.

It's days like these...these borderline winter days...that have me longing for autumn's glory. The warm colors and spectacular sunsets. The reds, oranges and yellows that wash over the landscape and sky. I wish there was a place that was perpetually stuck in fall. Wouldn't that be awesome!?

Happy Fall and be sure to do a sun shiny happy dance for me! (It's kind of like a rain dance, but for sun!)

And while we are waiting for fall to come back...enjoy these fall photos from Earth Porn  (funny name, huh!)  you should totally follow them on facebook!!!

And now you know the rest of the story

Monday evening the girls and I headed out to Davey to take our Christmas photos. Yes, these are way early. But it gets cold and busy and you have to order them and wait for them to ship, then address and label them all and well...ya that's why we took them this early.

I usually take the photos of the girls. Mostly because I am cheap and partly because I like taking photos. But taking photos of your own kids is problematic. They rush you, get cranky, put on fake smiles, bicker with each other and that's not even counting all the problems that come with trying to shoot a 2 year old.

On this particular day, the girls were a little pissy because we had to drive all the way to Davey for a 20 minute photo shoot. They had homework, didn't want to, why do we have to, blah blah blah.

Like a drill sergent, I ordered them in the car and told them we will stay at Davey until I get done with my pictures! Lucky for me, they calmed a bit and tried to comply.

I got some really great photos. At least one we'll use on our Christmas card (which I'm not sharing- you'll have to wait to receive it in the mail!). Here are a few of the others:

One of my favorites is this one...

Which is a great pic! Evie loves to swing between people and this photo really captures this moment in our lives. BUT thank goodness for photo editing, because this is the original!

LOVELY, Emma! LOVELY! Damn dog!

Had to share- I thought it was so funny!

Well, there you go! Now you know the rest of the story!

Happy Friday!

The Evie pout

It goes a little like this...

Me: "K, Evie- it's time to go inside now!"

Catching up

I was missing in action for a bit this past week or so. Lots going on around these parts. So here is a two-week recap to catch ya'll up!

First off, Evie and I have been seriously loving the fall weather! We spend much of our day outdoors swinging, picking up pinecones and wandering the yard.

Next, I made these sweet shoes for Corynn. They are just a cheap pair of white canvas shoes from Walmart that I blocked out with sharpie. She LOVES minecraft and was super excited with them! She wore them to her school carnival the night I gave them to her and received lots of compliments from her friends. She credited her awesome mom! :)

Baked and baked all the yummy apples we picked! We picked a huge cart full, gave them to friends, snacked on them and baked delicious munchies!

AND...I had LASIK done! No more glasses! YAY me! Although it was a horrible experience and I'm about 90% sure I would never do it again. It hurt, it was scary and I seriously thought I had blinded myself. I will tell that story another time. But as of today (13 days post op) I'm seeing better than I thought possible! So that is super awesome!

Oh and yesterday when picking up Corynn from school...I saw a woodchuck scurry into the sewer. weird.

Patch 2013

I LOVE pumpkin patches! Probably because I love fall weather and everything autumn. This year we all (yes, even the twins!) went with John's parents. Here are some photos from the day!

The gang watching Evie jump on huge inflated pillows and waiting and waiting and waiting

this picture is worth a thousand words for so many reasons!

dang sun glare! Messed up a really great photo!

I know deep down they really do love eachother!

Evie finally warming up to Gpa and sharing the kettle corn...one piece at a time!

Evie has been talking about pumpkins for weeks...everytime we see them at the store or at someone's house- her face lights up and she exclaims 'PUNK'N!' She was in heaven running around the patch! Gma finally helped her choose one.

We came home with seven pumpkins...including a 52lb white giant!

It does look quite nice on our front porch- I must admit! And it was fun to see Kwynn get excited about something...you know with all the teenage-I'm-too-old-for-this-stuff attitude that tends to seep out. John, Kynna and Gma Kelly went through a haunted house and Evie loved playing in the corn kernels. We all shared some kettle corn and enjoyed the hayrack ride! It was a really great time!
